KING’S COURSE
The King’s Golf Course is the oldest and the largest Slovenian golf course. Its origins date back to 1937 and many visitors claim it to be one of the most beautiful golf courses in Europe. The extremly pleasant climate permits a golf season from spring to late autumn.
The 18-hole championship golf course was redesigned in 1972 by the renowned golf architect Donald Harradine. He used the natural characteristics and advantages of the area to create a real architectural achievement.
In 2017, the King’s course reopened after an extensive 2-year renovation that saw dramatic changes and updates made to the original layout. Since then, its reputation has continued to spread with Golf World Magazine quickly returning it to its envied list of Top 100 Golf Courses in Continental Europe.
The recent changes have been recognized and endorsed by the Royal Karađorđević family and with this, the golf club is now graciously known as Royal Bled.
The course now offers a new look strategic layout, perfectly manicured surfaces and breath-taking views of the local mountains and out across to the famous Bled Castle. The fact that golfers use every single club in their bag when playing here demonstrates how varied and diverse the terrain is.
In the past, Bled Golf Course has hosted many major amateur and professional tournaments which is a true testament to the layout and challenge that it presents. Events include the European Boys’ Team Championships, PGA European Challenge Tour and also International European Mid-Amateur Championships.
